An evaporative cooler is also known as an evaporative air conditioner or wet air cooler, and this is simply referred to as a device that helps in cooling air through the process of evaporation of water. The process, of evaporation, is simply known as the vaporization that occurs on the surface of a liquid as it transits from the liquid state into the gaseous state. This is the same process that applies when water is said to reduce gradually from it is original state. When a bowl of water is exposed for a long time especially under a very hot condition, like intense sunlight, it gets reduced, and this also applies to the process of getting water to the cloud from the surface of the ground that eventually results in a gathering of cloud that in turn bring rainfall, it is more like a cycle been repeated, when any liquid or frozen water that forms in the atmosphere falls back to the earth is said to be precipitation, however, on the other side of the coin is the process of evaporation where water is taken up from the surface of the ground and is acclimated to result in another rain.
The evaporative cooler also makes use of this same evaporative process in its operation, and this works using less energy than that of a refrigerator which makes use of the refrigeration process. The evaporative cooler thrives on the fact that water will take in a relatively large amount of heat in order to evaporate and become moisture content. We must understand that the temperature of dry air gets to drop when transitting from liquid water to water vapor through the process of evaporation. On a very basic level an evaporative cooling system makes use of the basic evaporation process and automate, you would’ve tried it time and time again to take your bath to ease the tense of the heat in your body, and you sometimes go as far as sprinkling water around to ease the tension of heat, in your room or workspace, this is simply the process an evaporative cooling system adopted and automated so as to make it easy and less stressful to enjoy the coolness, especially in areas and cities with a relatively low level of humidity.
Therefore, in all, the machine will basically consist of a fan, a thick pad, a water reservoir where the water will be stored, and some other additional tools for proper processing and efficient distilling of the water molecule into a basic air that is capable of making a hot environment become cool and calm, just as in the case of an air conditioner.
