Vanished Like Gadhafi
A Danish & Tanzanian science team caught 5,000+ Mosquitos in traps for a research study in 2004. In 2009, they caught only 14. One can only hope that these vanishing Mosquitos are not migrating to our backyards.
In the eternal battle between Humankind & Mosquito, Mosquito always seems to win. Recent studies throughout Tanzania, Rwanda, Kenya and Zambia (to name a few) show that mosquito populations are declining. Did Humankind finally win!?
Over the recent years, organizations like Nothing But Nets have supplied bed nets, sometimes treated with pesticides for an added boost in efficiency, to communities throughout Africa. Some researchers believe that this may be the cause for the drastic population decline.
Other researches say it is unclear whether nets and other eradication controls are showing results, or if climate change and erratic weather patterns are fueling the death of these annoying little bastards. Either way, another statistic shows there is a decline in the incidence of Malaria throughout Africa.
Why do I feel that the GOP has yet another platform to use when discussing their version of global warming and climate change?
