Resolution: Give Back

Opinion – Thousands of organizations across the world advocate for human rights and animal rights, and help feed starving children, abused women, and the ostracized LGBT communities. Here’s a list of our favorite organizations that we think will need more attention in the coming year.

Trevor Project – “Anybody out there ever felt alone or like an outsider? Ever needed someone to talk to, but didn’t know where to turn? In some way, we’ve all been there and it’s not always easy to find support. That’s why we’re here for you and we believe in a future for all LGBTQ youth.”

Farm Sanctuary – Farm Sanctuary operates a 175-acre shelter in Upstate New York, and a 300-acre shelter in Northern California. Their “coast-to-coast shelters provide rescue, rehabilitation and lifelong care for victims of ‘food animal’ production, including: cattle, pigs, chickens, turkeys, goats, sheep, ducks, geese, and rabbits.”

All of the animals at Farm Sanctuary were, at one time, victims of abuse and neglect, and “for the first time in their lives, animals who have only known fear, isolation and pain are enjoying spacious, clean, straw-filled barns, nourishing food, veterinary care and love.”
