Solar Gets Sexy
Environment – The days of ugly solar panels are over. Pvilion, a maker of the environmentally conscious technology, is seeking to change our perception of the solar panel. A change that could spark a large embrace for the alternative energy technology.
Pvilion’s panels differ from the traditional form because the company has managed to develop an extremely thin and flexible solar panel that can be attached to industry heavy fabrics.
What makes this so exciting is that with an aesthetic revamping, solar panel technology could become something to show off. While many companies are offsetting their environmental impact by placing solar panels on their roofs or in similar invisible places, the slick, fluid curves of these panels begs to be placed in heavily trafficked places. Plus it looks very futuristic, which is always cool.
The company’s first product is a solar powered charging station for electric cars. Called the “Solar Sail Charging Station,” a compact, easy to install structure that, if it catches on, could reinvigorate life into the struggling electric car in the same way the company is changing image we see when we think of solar panels.
