Celebrity Charity – In honor of the late Whitney Houston, her family is asking that fans donate to her childhood school, in lieu of flowers.

Houston was involved with several charities over the years and her family members wish her legacy live on at her Alma Mater, the Whitney E. Houston Academy of Creative and Performing Arts, located in East Orange, N.J.

Houston’s family will not hold a public memorial however, according to Kristen Foster, Houston’s publicist, The Associated Press “will be allowed a camera at the Saturday ceremony in Newark, N.J.” and will be streaming the service here.
