Hats for Hope

Celebrity Charities – Actress Scarlett Johansson is what we’d call our ideal activist. She’s an ambassador for Oxfam America and has assisted USA Harvest with food banks post-Hurricane Katrina. She supports Project (RED) and Soles4Souls. Most recently, Johansson co-designed two eco-friendly beanies with active lifestyle company Neff. The proceeds of which will benefit City of Hope, one of the most prominent cancer research, treatment and education organizations in the United States.

The project, dubbed “Neff Hope,” will help raise awareness and funds for cancer research. Every time someone buys a knitted Scarlett Beanie, Neff will give one hat to a City of Hope patient or survivor. After matching up to 5,000 beanie purchases, Neff will donate 10% of each sale to City of Hope until they reach $20,000 or run out of stock.

“Conscious consumerism is definitely something I believe in, and Neff’s platform for giving back seemed like a perfect fit,” said Johansson. “I helped create this Neff Beanie with the hope that every purchase might make a cancer patient feel a bit more comfortable during his/her treatments and look cool and be cozy all the while. The beanies are eco friendly too, so they’re as nice to the earth as they are to the person wearing them.”

Sold exclusively through Zappos, the Scarlett Johanasson hats cost $24.99 each. Ironically, though, these Scarlett Beanies only come in black and white.
